Certification in HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
This course provides learners with the skills and knowledge required to safely perform CPR tasks safely. Learners will develop the skills and knowledge to perform basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on infants, children and adults in line with the industry guidelines. Successful completion of the course provides the necessary competency in CPR.

Entry requirements | SN Training requires learners to bring present photo Identification prior to course commencement and confirm their physical capacity to perform CPR whilst kneeling on the floor. |

Course Content
HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
This course presents the following key skills and knowledge:
- Recognise and assess an emergency situation.
- Ensure safety for self, bystanders and casualty.
- Assess the casualty and recognise the need for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
- Seek assistance from emergency services.
- Perform CPR in accordance with the ARC guidelines.
- Display respectful behaviour towards the casualty.
- Operate an automated external defibrillator (AED) according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Accurately convey incident details to emergency services.
- Report details of incidents in line with appropriate workplace or site procedures.
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality of information in line with statutory or organisational policies.
- Recognise the possible psychological impacts on self and other rescuers and seek help when required.
- Contribute to a review of the first aid response as required.
